Abstract
The opinion (in Greek: γνÏŽμη [gnomi]) about the nature (in Greek: φuση [physi]) of a place/city, when an individual, is subjective and of limited importance, but when of a group, one can speak of a collective perception of the place/city, called "physiognomy" of the place/city. In order to obtain the collective view of the people for the city of Trikala, Thessaly, Greece, a questionnaire was addressed a random sample of residents, business people and visitors of the city. Through the study of the results of the questionnaire, findings are presented which confirm the following research hypotheses: 1. The city of Trikala, mainly in its center, maintains its Historical Physiognomy, which helps in doing business. 2. The city of Trikala can attract visitors/tourists and new residents. 3. The most characteristic elements of Trikala city through which it can be identified, by city residents, business people of the center, and visitors of the city, are related to its Historicity.
